Simply cut out two identical paper stars - 8 points is good.
Cut out a hexagonal shape from the middle of each star.
Get the kids to colour in the paper star, with green pencil, paint or texta.
Stick see-through red cellophane onto the backside of one of the paper stars.
Then stick the other paper star onto the other side, so that you have a two-sided star with transparent middle.
Use a hole punch to make a hole in one of the points of the star, and tie string through, to hang from the tree.
