Christmas Trees
Living Christmas Trees
I love Christmas so much, I planted a Christmas Tree in my front yard. Instead of having a driveway. And we decorate it each year with lights and balls and whatever waterproof decorations the kids can make. Although this year we're experimenting with solar-powered lights for some of the trees, to cut down on electricity and wiring.
If you'd like to buy a live Christmas Tree to decorate inside, there are usually cut trees available at the local fruit and vegetable shop, or petrol station, supporting the local charities and organisations, from around the first week in December. Everywhere I've been lately has been promoting the Scouts selling cut Christmas trees on 5 and 12 December, at the local petrol station.
If you live in Sydney, the Dural Christmas Tree barn lets you choose your tree, ordering online from as early as October, then go and collect it, or get it delivered to your home. Very handsome-looking trees, too.
There is a lovely Christmas Tree Shop based in Victoria, with Christmas Tree care tips and online ordering of stunningly beautiful live Christmas trees. NorthPoleChristmasTreeFarm - with deliveries around the Melbourne area.
And if you live near the Gold Coast, you can arrange a live Christmas Tree for delivery or pickup from goldcoastchristmastrees.com.au. Trees are grown in NSW at the Real Christmas Tree Farn and shipped up to the warmer climes of Queensland.
Artificial Christmas Trees
We have a large green artificial (but realistic-looking) Christmas tree, that gets dragged out from the dungeon each year, and assembled inside the house. And decorations that get more tattered and worn each year, but are too full of memories to throw away.
If you're in need of cool decorations for your tree, you can order them online at Everything Christmas , an Australian company with both artificial trees, and loads of decorations for your tree.
Or this year my favourite (because of the prices) is oo.com.au. They have great prices on Christmas Lights, and a great range, too.
Of course, if you've taken some pictures of great Christmas Trees, feel welcome to add them to the Christmas Gallery.
